Glen E. Friedman interview on AMSBX
I think Glen E. Friedman was a HUGE influence on my style as an image maker before I even saw any of his photographs. The use of a wide angle lens was a necessity for me and my generation, not because it was dictated in photographic art books, but because this imagery appeared in the album artwork of the bands that formed the identity that would carry me out of my small town high school. His style was so thoroughly co-opted and regurgitated by the sub-culture taste makers that it influenced my adolescent aesthetic without realizing until years later he was the epicenter for a entire legion of my contemporaries.
